Having a Vietnamese wedding style

Vietnam, the land that has everything you need from a destination for your wedding celebration. Vibrant and chaotic urban life mixed with the wonder of nature, gorgeous coastline, rich culture, amazing unique cuisine, and countless locations to tie the knot without having to compromise on breathtaking sceneries. Having been a frequent visitor for both weddings and vacations, I can say that it is the most intriguing romantic escape for couples and their families – especially if they want to have a truly surreal and different experience!

As a destination wedding videographer in Vietnam, I can tell you thus, Even though you might already picture palm trees and white sands, this country actually has so much more to offer. In fact, it has various types of places which provide you with the leisure to tailor your big day with a theme of your choice. From rice terrace landscape to a tropical paradise, from mountain galore to colorful urban life, you will have a whole palette to make your decision. As an experienced destination Vietnam wedding videographer, I will be sharing my recommendations and tips for hosting your nuptials in these lands!

Where to have an amazing

Destination wedding in Vietnam

A wedding in Hanoï

The capital of Vietnam, nestled in the northern part of the country; is known for its authentic culture that features a medley of Southeast Asian, French, and Chinese influences. The one thing you will be amazed by is the high contrast between urban chaos, more contemporary life, and centuries-old architecture. As landmarks of the east, there are a lot of temples for peace and serenity but also there is the old quarter filled with authentic Vietnamese splendor and I dare to say – beautiful chaos. However, Hanoi exudes luxurious, glamorous, and whimsical venues for your destination wedding in Vietnam. I would definitely recommend The Hanoi Club situated on the coast on the largest lake in this city; J W Marriott Hotel, and Pan Pacific Hanoi for opulent celebration; the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel for lovers of old-world charm; and the Flamingo Dai Lai Resort just 45 minutes from the city, surrounded by lush greenery for a tropical romantic affair. A wedding in Hoi An

Imagine cut through canals and a wonderfully preserved Ancient Town where you can actually have a journey through time, gazing at yellow-colored facades and lanterns everywhere! This UNESCO-protected city has been a lantern itself for tailoring and silk production, which means your guests will have an amazing time discovering its unique features. Because it is a coastal city, naturally there are also gorgeous resorts and beaches nearby that are a one-of-a-kind experience when getting married in Vietnam. Additionally, there are rice fields that are amazing for the reception! What I love the most about this region is the local cuisine and excellent music which will add a special flair to your celebration, but also the old town that has astounding views – which as a destination wedding videographer in Vietnam I find magical for your wedding cinematography! If you are an early bird, you will be enchanted by sunrises since the beaches are facing east. Venues to consider on the riverbank: Anantara Hoi An Resort, Hoi An Silk Marina Resort and Spa, and for a luxe rooftop experience – The Deck. From the beach venues, I would suggest the Salt Pub for more intimate affairs, and the Sunrise Premium Resort, Palm Garden Resort, Nam Hai by Four Seasons Resort – for grandeur, romance, and luxe. This is one of the most cinematic destination for an amazing wedding film in Vietnam.

A wedding in Nha Trang

As a destination wedding videographer in Vietnam, I adore filming beach sceneries, and this is one of my favorites for sure because this coastal town has unique features like urban chic, temples, offshore islands, and magnificent resorts for beach ceremonies! Plus, you and your guests will have a chance to taste the most delicious seafood. It is nestled in the south of the country with a long main beach which has an amazing count of restaurants and hotels. It is a true metropolis that entwines the romantic allure of beaches and vibrant nightlife. If you wish for a stunning beach ceremony there are a lot of beaches to choose from, but these are the venues I would recommend: Evason Ana Mandara Nha Trang, Amiana Nha Trang (which has a natural seawater pool!), and Mia Resort Nha Trang.

A wedding in Phu Quoc Island

From beaches to tropical dense jungle, this island is a dream for many when it comes to hosting a destination wedding in Vietnam! Most couples choose to tie the knot in some of the alluring beach resorts but also have an adventurous exploration of the national park. The best part? In the resort, you can have a wedding completely tailored to your style, whether it is an elegant luxe or Vegas Shotgun style. Some of the places to consider: La Veranda Resort, Salinda Resort, Vinpearl Resort, The Shells Resort, and Chez Carole Resort.

Destination wedding videographer Vietnam

One of the reasons I was drawn to this country and became a destination Vietnam wedding videographer is because of the vibrancy of the culture and various qualities in terms of nature and architecture. I just love great sceneries and Vietnam has some of the most magnificent in the world. Booking a destination video artist instead of the locals will give a new kind of magic that only a foreigner sees, to which the locals are used to. A fresh perspective and devotion to the awe-inspiring beauty of these lands. Seeing the bewitching glory with the same zest as you.

Vietnam Wedding Styles according to location

MOUNTAIN WEDDINGS

Host an authentic mountain wedding with traditions from the ethnic Ka Tu people! This is for those who want to have a totally unique ceremony which not everyone can say they have seen even on TV! The best venue? Easy – Bho Hoong Bungalows, accessible from the city Da Nang.

COASTAL & ISLAND WEDDINGS

Hoi An and its surroundings are my forever favorite for coastal magic because there is no city of the same likeness nor features anywhere else. It offers so much more than resorts and so much to experience from the Vietnamese culture. Besides the island Phu Quoc, I would also recommend tying the knot on Cat Ba Island or Hon Tre Island.

WEDDINGS IN NATURE

When it comes to nature I will always recommend beach resorts because they are usually entwined with nature. Lavish and dense palm trees, white sands, and the ocean calming your senses as you say I do. The whole east coast is incredible but the south is perfect if you are aiming for sunset celebrations. Phu Quoc has the most breathtaking views and beaches when it comes to the setting sun.

CITY AND URBAN WEDDINGS

Hanoi is my favorite for urban celebrations, but I would also list Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Hai Phong, Da Nang, and Bien Hoa. Da Nang has so many modern glamorous places for contemporary couples. As my preferred choice, I would suggest Novotel Danang Premier Han River Hotel for beautiful scenery – you get to see the whole city glowing in night lights after sunset. Magic!

LEGALITIES

Generally, you cannot get married in Vietnam legally but you can have a symbolic ceremony, even include some of their traditions, and have a beautiful reception celebration. I would suggest having a civil marriage in your homeland, and host your destination wedding in Vietnam after that. If your partner has a permanent or temporary residence in this country, it is possible to get legally married. For any information on the matter it is best to consult with a wedding planner. Yet, I stand in my opinion that it is best to first have a legally binding ceremony in your country.

AMENITIES

The main allure that is inviting for any couple and their guests is a unique culture! The mix of old and new and the eastern vibes have a special charm that your loved ones would surely love to explore and get to know. Usually, everything is easily accessible so you wouldn’t have a problem organizing extra activities and enjoying the amenities this country has to offer. However, keep in mind that the flight to Vietnam is a long one and you will have to take care of the transport and offer refreshments for your guests as soon as they arrive. The hotel or resort will probably do this but I would recommend having everything organized, with a shuttle transport and everything else. That being said, it is best to book a longer stay for a week than only 2 days because everyone would be too exhausted to travel back.
