What a destination for a wedding! And what a couple! Have you always dreamed of getting married in Italy in a charming, atypical, and exotic place? In the land of La Dolce Vita, as a destination wedding videographer in Italy, I suggest you check out the wedding of Marie & Gio in Tropea. This beautiful couple decided to get married in Calabre, near the birthplace of Giovanni. When he took his beloved for the first time on a trip, they discovered this charming village – Tropea, still a little untouched and not very touristy. Perched on a hill, overlooking the town, was the sanctuary of Santa Maria dell’Isola. So they made a crazy decision to get married in Italy there. After a few discussions with the local priest, they realized their dream and got married in this atypical place with a breathtaking view of the city and the sea.
Marie, from France, contacted me to film her wedding in Tropea. Accustomed to destination weddings in Italy, I must admit that leaving for a few days in the Calabria region inspired me a lot! With David, the wedding photographer, we suggested that the couple enrich their stay and consequently the images we would produce with a boat trip on the coast. The couple was delighted and accepted without hesitation.
The day before, David and I spent some time taking pictures of the city early in the morning, when everyone was still asleep and when the weather was still fresh. In the afternoon, we met the ciouple in the harbour for a few hours of a boat trip. On the program, we had lifestyle sessions, swimming, and a walk on the beach. In the evening, we were able to rest and taste the delicacies of the Calabrian region.
The overwhelming heat woke us up early in the morning, and after a beach session, we met the couple at Villa Paola, Tropea. After the preparations, we took a van to the Santa Maria dell’Isola sanctuary. A religious wedding in Italy perched on top of a hill overlooking the sea; what a breathtaking view! Back at the villa Paola, and some drone images later, we had a cocktail (tasted the famous spritz, of course), then the meal. And what a feast! Consisting of a series of Italian dishes, it ended with a ball opening and a wild dance party until the early hours of the morning.
