Meryll
OWNER, VIDEOGRAPHER & EDITOR
Based in Provence, France
Hi, I’m Meryll. I founded GordonWeddingFilms in 2014 and I am a destination wedding videographer based in Provence, working across the French Riviera and selected destinations abroad. I work in French and English, and over the years I have filmed more than 180 weddings for couples from France, the U.S., the U.K., Europe, and Asia.
My background in music, writing, and composition deeply shapes the way I approach storytelling, rhythm, and emotion in film. My work as a South of france wedding filmmaker is known for its narrative sensitivity, editorial care, and emotionally driven approach. It has been recognized by international industry associations and film festivals, including Best Wedding Film Award 2025 and Best 2x Wedding Film Award 2024 by Inspiration Photographers, Best Bronze Award 2025 by AsiaWPA, and Best Wedding Highlight and Best Colorist at WEVA in 2021. I also teach videographers and photographers how to build stronger wedding films through story, anticipation, editing, Final Cut Pro X, communication, and business clarity. All GordonWeddingFilms productions are edited by me to preserve a consistent artistic voice. The work has also been featured through publications and platforms such as Wezoree, French Wedding Style, Filmmaker Global, Ruffled, Bridal Musings, Madame C, Wedding Chicks, and Carats & Cake. A selection of press features, interviews and awards offers additional insight into the work through independent publications and professional recognition.

About us
Our work begins with people, not with equipment. We believe a wedding film becomes meaningful when it reflects the character, energy, and emotional truth of the couple behind it. Our ambition is to create refined, story-driven films with a strong artistic identity for international couples planning destination weddings in Provence, on the French Riviera, in Thailand, and in selected destinations abroad, often with planners and multi-day celebrations. If you would like to understand how the process is structured, you can discover more in this wedding film experience.
You
Our ideal clients are international, emotionally aware, and culturally curious couples, often between 30 and 40, who are planning a destination wedding with a strong sense of intention and style. They are drawn to authenticity over performance, depth over artifice, and want a film that feels elegant, personal, and deeply true to their story. We work especially well with couples planning weddings with planners, multi-day celebrations, and carefully curated guest experiences.

Teaching storytelling for filmmakers
Teaching has been part of my work since 2014. Over the years, I have developed one-to-one sessions in French, mentoring in French and English, and workshops in French for videographers and photographers who want to tell stronger stories in their wedding films.
As a South of France wedding filmmaker my teaching focuses on narrative construction, pre-production, anticipation on the wedding day, Final Cut Pro X, communication, business clarity, and the ability to create films that feel more intentional, emotional, and memorable. I am also a regular speaker and educator, including as main speaker at Narrative Wedding Workshops for the past eight years, speaker at KickAss Workshop in 2021 and 2024, speaker and jury member at Global Wedding Filmmaker in Rome in 2025, and speaker at the FFPMI conference in 2025.
Travelling the world to document love stories
Destination weddings have always been an important part of our work. Travelling allows us to discover new atmospheres, cultures, and ways of celebrating, and each setting brings a different narrative texture to the films we create.
From luxury celebrations in Provence and on the French Riviera to weddings in Santorini, Lake Como, Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, Rome, Puglia, Phuket, and Koh Samui, every destination offers its own rhythm, light, and emotional context. These experiences continue to shape the way we observe, adapt, and tell each story.
We have documented multi-day celebrations, intimate destination weddings, and large-scale events in a wide range of locations, including Morocco, Italy, Mallorca, Thailand, Costa Rica, New York, England, Iceland, and Cambodia. In France, we regularly work in venues such as Four Seasons Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, Château de Tourreau, Domaine de Manville, and Château de Varennes. In Thailand, our work includes locations such as Amanpuri, Trisara, Samujana Villas, Four Seasons Koh Samui, Conrad Koh Samui, and Villa Yao Noi.

Philosophy
The quality of a film depends on the relationship with the couple.
The relationship we build with couples is central to the quality of the work. We always meet them beforehand and take time to understand what matters in their story, their personalities, and the emotional tone of their wedding. That closeness helps us film with accuracy and create a wedding film that feels true to who they are.
Each film is shaped with care, intention, and a desire to avoid repetition. We continue to search for new sources of inspiration in cinema, music, travel, and everyday life so that each wedding can be approached with fresh eyes and a distinct emotional language.
Our approach is not based on coverage alone. We invest time in understanding the couple, researching the location, and preparing the emotional and visual direction of the film in advance. We also collaborate closely with planners and creative partners before the wedding day to ensure a fluid and thoughtful production.
On the day itself, we observe carefully, pay attention to atmosphere, and film with the finished story in mind. Back in the studio, the editing process begins with structure, listening, and narrative intention. Music also plays a central role in my work. I spend time selecting the right track, shaping rhythm, and refining each sequence until the film reaches the emotional balance I am looking for. I work as an artisan, with close attention to detail from the first conversation to the final edit.
Based in Provence, I cover weddings across southern France and the French Riviera, with a trusted team available when needed, including a certified drone pilot for selected productions. In Thailand, Matteo and his local team support productions across the country when appropriate. I remain in charge of the artistic direction and I edit every film myself.
